VW Sharan/Ford Galaxy/Seat Alhambra Side Panel Times - 15 May 2008

The question is often asked why the labour times for the replacement of the side panel for the Ford Galaxy, VW Sharon and Seat Alhambra are different when these vehicles are built in the same factory. Basically, each manufacturer has its own recommended repair method(s).

Ford Galaxy:

Ford’s repair method when replacing the side panel is to cut across the C and D pillars.

VW Sharan:

VW’s repair method when replacing the side panel goes up to the roof. VW also has a repair method for a partial panel replacement like the Galaxy, where the panel is replaced and cut across the C and D pillar. It also allows for an upper partial panel to the roof panel cut across the C and D pillar.

Seat Alhambra:

Seat’s repair method for repairing the side panel, like VW’s Sharan, offers both the replacement of the panel to the roof and the partial replacement cutting across the C and D pillar.

TTS: The replacement of panels using TTS for all of these vehicles are for the panels to be cut across the C and D pillar.
