Honda and Audatex sets new standards for bodyshops
26th April 2012
As part of its ongoing programme of driving excellence across the Honda Accident Repair Programme (HARP), Honda has worked closely with Audatex to create a programme of Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) benchmarking and training.
For the first time, Audatex will deliver a bespoke programme to Honda’s 138 approved bodyshops nationwide, culminating in an Estimator of the Year award. The programme, which is being fully funded by Honda, will commence with the benchmarking exercise from Audatex to determine delegates’ individual performance. Delegates will also be tested on their ability to apply the correct methodology to their assessments, drawing specifically on MARIS, Honda’s own methods.
The benchmarking will be followed by Audatex training to 50 invited VDAs, tailored to ensure delegates are able to demonstrate the ability to research and understand the information available to create comprehensive vehicle damage assessments. The courses will also equip VDAs with the skills and knowledge to fully utilise the Audatex system, to maximise profitability for business.
John Powell, Programme Manager, Honda explained “We are pleased to announce that we have joined with Audatex to introduce this training and development programme to our network. It will be particularly exciting as our Estimator of the Year will be announced at the inaugural ABP British Bodyshop Awards in June, so a first for Honda on both counts. We are anticipating an extremely positive response from our network.”
“This initiative is a clear demonstration of Honda’s commitment to its approved network of dealers and bodyshops,” said Paul Sykes, Sales & Operations Director, Audatex UK. “The programme is designed to enable bodyshops to create accurate, comprehensive and right first time assessments to enable faster approvals and completion of repairs.”
