A day in the life of Jake Marley, Apprentice Service Desk Analyst, Audatex
I would describe my apprenticeship as fast-paced, intense and enjoyable
Hi, my name is Jake and I’m a developer apprentice here at Audatex.
I was previously an apprentice in the service desk team and I’m currently in the process of transitioning to the development team.
Being part of the service desk team has really put me at the heart of the Audatex business, speaking to our customers on a daily basis, providing first line support. My day to day activities involve taking calls from our customers, troubleshooting for them and resolving any issues as they occur. I’ve already learnt a lot in regards to my communication skills and with that have become more confident in my problem solving, and the way I deal with high pressure situations. I am keen to progress at Audatex, so am very much looking forward to developing my coding skills as I progress into my new apprenticeship role.
It is the people that really make Audatex. It is by far my favourite thing about working here. It is a great place to work and I’m surrounded by a fantastic group of people. It can be quite challenging when the work is 24/7, but that’s part of the job and it does mean you never get bored!
Audatex has really helped me in my initial apprenticeship and has given me a great first step on the career ladder. I am looking forward to moving into my new role and the challenges it will bring. I know this will help me gain a variety of experience to support my career progression and give me the best opportunities possible.
In five years time, at the ripe age of 25, I can see myself being a well-established developer after my new apprenticeship.
I would describe my apprenticeship as fast-paced, intense and enjoyable, and would 100% recommend it to anyone. It’s such an amazing opportunity to learn lots of skills, earn money and have real-life work experiences that you don’t get at University.
